A Moroccan soldier, assaulted four months ago at the Melilla border by a Sudanese migrant who tried to cross the fence, died last Tuesday.
The Moroccan soldier died of injuries caused by the assault he suffered, after spending four months in hospital, the Nador section of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) reported. He had been attacked with stones by a Sudanese migrant who tried to jump the double fence that separates Melilla from Morocco.

The agents of the auxiliary forces, permanently positioned along the border perimeter on the Moroccan side, are responsible for ensuring border security and dissuading sub-Saharan migrants from entering the autonomous city. On the Spanish side, the Civil Guard ensures the same watch.
