Hakim Ziyech continues to cause a sensation in the preseason. The Moroccan international shone again, against Tottenham Hotspur, offering himself a double.

Hakim Ziyech sent a strong message to Thomas Tuchel with his superb performance in Chelsea’s pre-season friendly draw against Tottenham on Wednesday. Ziyech scored both goals as he proves to Champions League winners that he is indispensable.

The Atlas Lion scored on either side of half-time to give Chelsea a two-goal lead over Spurs before north London made a comeback.

The Moroccan looked brilliant and finished the preseason as Chelsea’s top scorer, scoring five goals before the start of the 2021/22 season.

“It was a beautiful evening. From the start, I enjoyed it. I think I showed in the performance that I liked it ”, he declared at the end of the meeting.

The former Ajax Amsterdam star is thus claiming a starting place in next Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup clash against Villarreal with an eye-catching performance against Spurs.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer amid growing competition for places, with speculation suggesting he could join Olivier Giroud at AC Milan.
