Olivier Giroud has revealed he would like his Chelsea teammate Hakim Ziyech to join him in Milan this summer, after the Rossoneri’s expressed interest in the Morocco international.
Olivier Giroud swapped Stamford Bridge for San Siro, ending his three-and-a-half-year stay in west London and would like one of his former teammates to do the same, namely Hakim Ziyech.
According to the Italian press, AC Milan remain interested in signing the Moroccan, the main target of Maldini and Massara. Milan is working on a loan with an option to buy and a buyout clause.
Giroud has openly admitted his decision to move away from Chelsea was driven by a lack of playing time under Thomas Tuchel, a fate shared by the Atlas Lion.
The ex-Ajax has yet to feature in a full game since Tuchel was appointed Chelsea boss in January, and Milan are keen to offer the winger a way out of the club, a situation that appears to make the happiness of Giroud, eager to play again with the Moroccan.
“Ziyech is a great player. We had a great connection even though we played a few games together. He has an upper left foot, is experienced and is very good technically. It would be good to play with him again », did he declare.
The former Ajax Amsterdam star has already started the preseason on a high, after scoring a hat-trick in a 6-1 friendly win over Peterborough United last Saturday.
The Atlas Lion is also on the shelves of French club Olympique de Lyon, which is linked with Chelsea until 2025.
Ziyech has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in 39 Premier League and Champions League appearances.
