Nearly MAD 144 million to fight against unsanitary housing in Fez and Moulay Yaacoub

A budget of nearly 144 million DH will be allocated to the implementation of projects aimed at fighting against unsanitary housing at the level of the prefecture of Fez and the province of Moulay Yaacoub.

These projects will be carried out within the framework of partnership agreements signed, recently in Fez, between the Ministry of National Land Use Planning, Town Planning, Housing and City Policy, the wilaya of the region. Fès-Meknes, the council of the Fès-Meknes region and the prefectures and provinces concerned.

In this context, 7,000 inhabitants are concerned by the rehousing operations, the subject of three agreements signed on this occasion, which aim to strengthen the coordination of efforts between the different actors to fight against unsanitary housing, according to the Ministry of Planning. of the territory.

These three agreements, which aim to carry out projects for the fight against all forms of unsanitary housing in Fez and Moulay Yaacoub, will mobilize nearly MAD 78.5 million.

Another partnership agreement, signed in the same framework, concerns the creation of a financing fund for the rehabilitation program of buildings threatening to ruin as well as the program relating to the fight against slums, at the level of the prefecture of Fez and the province of Moulay Yaacoub. This fund will be endowed, according to the wilaya of Fez, with 65.80 MDH.

These projects are part of the implementation of the program contract between the State and the region of Fez-Meknes and partnerships between the Ministry of National Land Use Planning, Town Planning, Housing and city policy and its local and regional partners.

These four agreements are part of a series of partnership agreements signed between the same partners relating to the housing and urban planning sectors, in particular the upgrading of urban and emerging centers and the fight against housing. unsanitary. They have a total amount of MAD 375.8 million, including MAD 175.5 million provided by the Region.
