The Greater Casablanca-Settat region recorded an increase in new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday, September 14, with the city of Casablanca having accumulated the highest number of new infections in the past 24 hours.
Hespress’s watch and monitoring platform, covid.hespress.com/fr, details that Morocco now has 908,349 confirmed cases, 13,683 deaths (i.e. a mortality rate of 1.5%), 866,064 healings, a total of 8,485,832 tests (an increase of 19,835), and 28,602 cases under treatment, including 1,684 in serious condition (58 under intubation).
In addition, 20,362,745 people have received a first dose of the vaccine since the launch of the campaign while 16,875,343 are on the second dose, the health ministry said in its daily bulletin.
The region of Grand Casablanca-Settat leads the most affected regions with 1,219 new infections with a concentration of cases in Casablanca (1089, followed by that of Mohammadia (35).
The region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra is the second in terms of new infections and records 635 new cases, the majority of which were identified in Kénitra with a total of 157 infections, followed closely by that of Sidi Kacem (126). Next, the Tangier–Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, which records 261 new cases, including 103 in Tangier-Assilah, the most affected city.
The Oriental region has recorded 144 new cases, with the most affected city that of Berkane (38), followed by the region of Fès-Meknes which reports 114 new infections, mainly in Fez (39) and Taza (36).
For its part, the Marrakech-Safi region reports 107 new infections, mainly 48 in Marrakech, while that of Beni Mellal-Khenifra has 89 including 33 in Fquih Ben Salah and 24 in Khenifra.
For its part, the region of Daraâ-Tafilalet recorded 49 new cases including 16 in Errachidia as the most significant assessment, followed closely by the region of Souss-Massa (48) and Laâyoune Sakia-El Hamra (47).
Finally, last regions in the ranking, the regions of Dakhla Oued-Eddahab with 38 new contaminations concentrated in Oued Ed-Dahab and Guelmim Oued-Noun with 34 new cases including 12 in Assa-Zag and 11 in Tan Tan.
